The ERHK Renal Dialysis Unit was established in 2021 and had its first dialysis session on 19th June 2021.
It started with 3 nurses and one Nephology nurse who underwent a month intensive dialysis training in Accra (Anbabio Memorial Clinic and Dialysis Center, Cantonment) to provide the dialysis service.
The Unit was commissioned on the 23rd February 2022 by then formal Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong. 3 machines were on that day by BDAC Ghana Foundation in collaboration with the family of DR. Goerge Fredua Agyeman Ofori-Atta to augment the initial 5 machines we started with.
A machine is currently designated for blood-related illness. The unit now has a total of 1m.o specialist, 12 nurses, and 3 engineers who are running the unit.
