PROFILE OF DIABETES AND HYPERTENSION CLINIC
The Diabetes and Hypertension clinic was established in the year 2015 as a specialized clinic that will operate on outpatient basis. The unit is run by Physician specialists alongside with dietitians and nursing staff to provide exclusive care to patients living with diabetes and hypertension and its associated co-morbidities. The unit is a one stop service clinic inclusive of a record unit, phlebotomy corner, diet therapy unit, pharmacy, investigation room and a pay-point.

To deliver excellent and quality healthcare to our clients by managing, controlling and preventing diabetes and hypertension in our communities
To improve early detection of hypertension and diabetes through health education and outreaches

Establish and maintain a public health education and information process
To detect early risk factors for early diagnosis and treatment
Improve student’s clinical performance
To promote research development and evidence based practice in the unit.

ACTIVITIES
The clinic runs Mondays to Fridays from 6:00am till the last patient leaves.Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays are dedicated to hypertensive patients whiles Wednesdays and Thursdays are for diabetic patients. The clinic joins the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and International Society of Hypertension(ISH) to celebrate world diabetes and world hypertension days respectively annually.The clinic undertakes the following activities.

Patients are adviced to come with their hospital card and thier health insurance card.
Patienst with private insurance must also come along with their card
Patients should first visit the OPD (Adults OPD for adult and Kids OPD for kids) to be given service. Doctors cannot consult without visiting the medical records for service
Any additional health bills (service and drugs) that are not fully are partially covered under an insurance should be paid at the mini banks provided around the hospital with a receipt in return. Under no circumstances should payment be made to a health staff.
